On Sunday, August 29, we will hold a one-day practice led by Zen master Hyon Ja at the Dharma Gate Buddhist College (Budapest, Börzsöny u. 11.). The practice is followed by a precepts ceremony.

Spring & Summer online practice schedule

Tuesday zen practice starts at 18:30. Once a month, on Saturdays, we hold a one-day practice with the Austrian and Slovak Sangha. Practice sessions are led by Zen Master Hyon Ja (SSN) and Dharma Masters (PSN) Lizzie Coombs and Knud Rosenmayr.

What is the significance of a 49-day ceremony? Chong Hae Sunim JDPS: When someone passes away, in addition to a funeral service that usually occurs three or seven days after the death, we have a ceremony on the 49th day. Traditionally, the period of 49 days after someone dies is seen as a time for that person to check their consciousness and digest their karma.
